The 45th Annual AMSOIL World Championship Snowmobile Derby is underway in Eagle River, Wis. Temperatures are hovering near zero and the western wind is steadily picking up steam.
Long-time AMSOIL user and friend of A.J. Amatuzio, Bobby Unser is visiting the AMSOIL Derby Track this year. Unser was the lead rider on this morning's "Charity Ride". Unser and his wife Lisa are honorary guests of the AMSOIL Derby Weekend and were each presented with an AMSOIL Winter Performance Jacket this morning.
Racing started at 9:30 this morning with qualifying in both oval sprint and snocross classes. The AMSOIL Eagle River Snowmobile Derby will continue tonight with the Friday Night Thunder, which includes fireworks and pre-qualifying for Sunday's AMSOIL World Championship race. Team AMSOIL rider P.J. Wanderscheid is looking to become the first person to ever win four AMSOIL World Championship races.
