After a second place finish at East Bay Raceway Park on Friday night and a ninth on Saturday, Brady Smith was looking to keep his top ten streak alive at Volusia Speedway Park.

The Barberville, Fla. track is home to the UMP DIRTcar Series and the Alltell DIRTcar Nationals this week. Smith timed his AMSOIL late model in fourth quickest in his qualifying group and later finished second in his stacked heat race. After starting 12th on the grid for the $7,000 tp win feature, Smith was able to work his AMSOIL/Bloomquist car up four spots during the 30-lap affair to finish 8th in the final rundown.
Smith will be back on the pedal tonight at Volusia with round two of the UMP sanctioned event. Until then, we'll see you at the races.
