Smith was competing in the third round of the 'Alltell DIRTcar Nationals' just outside of Daytona. Smith recorded the eighth fastest lap in the UMP series qualifying and finished fifth in his heat race. A placing second in his B-Main, Smith rolled off 23rd for the feature event.
From there, the Solon Springs, Wis. native wheeled his AMSOIL / #2 Bloomquist machine past 13 cars during the 30-lap affair en route to a solid tenth place effort.
Smith is back in action tonight at Volusia. Until then, we'll see you at the races.
