Wanderscheid Ready for Sunday's Final

Team AMSOIL oval ice racer PJ Wanderscheid wrapped up Saturday's qualifying for the AMSOIL World Championship race with a front row starting spot.

Wanderscheid took home a second in his heat race at the AMSOIL Derby Track in Eagle River, Wis. He followed that up with a strong semi-final race, finishing third and battling with the race leaders throughout. His top three finish pushed him directly into Sunday's final and a spot on the front row for the 25-lapper.
Wanderscheid, as well as the other nine front row starters received their AMSOIL Eagle River World Championship rings at a special ceremony on Saturday night. Guest speaker was long-time AMSOIL user Bobby Unser. A silent auction was also held at the event to honor a fallen Eagle River soldier who lost his life last summer in Iraq.

Wanderscheid will be joined by fellow AMSOIL rider Brad Bettin on the front row. (Bettin is sponsored by a local AMSOIL Dealer.) Wanderscheid is looking for his fourth win in the AMSOIL World Championship race. The race, which can be viewed http://www.derbytrack.com/.

Until then, we'll see you at the races.
