Grant Grabs Second Straight Podium

Anaheim, Calif.

After spending the first two weeks of the AMA Supercross Lites series battling injuries, Team AMSOIL rider Josh Grant is getting up to speed with the other top riders in the junior class. Grant finished second two weeks ago in round four of the AMA series, just one spot ahead of teammate Jake Wiemer.

For round five, the AMSOIL/Factory Connection team returned to Anaheim, Calif. for the third and final time this season. Grant didn't get the best start in Saturday nights main, but Wiemer helped him out by crashing in the first turn. That brought out the red flag and allowed Grant to get up front on the restart. Grant moved his way into second and stayed there, finishing well behind race winner Ryan Villopoto. The restart also helped Wiemer, who finished sixth. After five rounds, Wiemer is third overall in the standings and Grant has moved into fifth after finishing last in the first two rounds.

Supercross rider Kevin Windham, meanwhile, finished seventh on top of of his AMSOIL/Honda. He is currently sixth in the points race. Teammate Travis Preston is seventh after not making the final due to injury.

The AMSOIL team will be in Houston, Texas this weekend. The event will air on CBS.
