Eckstrom, Crapo Miss Podium

Eagle River, Wis.

Team AMSOIL snocross riders DJ Eckstrom and Shaun Crapo battled one of the largest tracks the World PowerSports Association has ever created this past weekend in Eagle River, Wis.

Riding and flying high at the AMSOIL Derby Track, Eckstrom and Crapo would have to deal with a double national. In the first round, Crapo led the charge, finishing seventh in the Pro Open class while Eckstrom finished tenth. With Eckstrom out of the Pro Stock final after breaking a shock in the third round of qualifying, Crapo finished 12th.

The next round saw both riders in all four finals. In Pro Stock, Eckstrom finished 9th while Crapo came in 14th. In Pro Open, Eckstrom finished strong, landing in sixth while Crapo finished the circuit in 10th.

For the season, Eckstrom is 8th overall in Pro Stock while Crapo is sitting in 13th. The two riders switch positions in Pro Open as Crapo is in 8th and Eckstrom is 15th.

The AMSOIL/Scheuring Team will face another double header this weekend as the WPSA brings its show to the rescheduled Polaris National at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

Until then, see you at the races,
