the WPSA held the finals for the Pro Stock and Pro Open class in what is being considered the second round of the seaso

While Eckstrom sat this morning, teammate Shaun Crapo took part in both finals. In the Pro Stock final, the first year AMSOIL rider made it through the first corner in tenth in and moved up to ninth by the time the checkered flag dropped. In Pro Open, Crapo finished 12th after getting caught up in the first turn. All day the riders faced a large amount of snowdust hitting both their sleds and their faces.

The WPSA did hold the Pro Stock qualifying in the afternoon for round three of the season. Eckstrom and Crapo ran well early. Eckstrom took a second in the first heat and a third in the third round, but a seventh in round two nearly cost him a front row starting spot in the final. Crapo went fifth, fourth and fourth in his heats, and missed a front row spot by one point. In the LCQ, he was unable to get out of the first corner when the skis to his sled caught the skis of another sled. Crapo flew over the handle bars and was unable to advance to Sunday's final.
We'll be back on Sunday for a recap of the Pro Stock final and the full day of Pro Open racing.
See you at the races,
