Snow Ready for AMSOIL Duluth National

There have been a great number of race fans who have been asking if there will be enough snow for this weekend's AMSOIL Duluth National, and all I can say is 'don't worry'.
I visited the ski hill this afternoon and all I saw was a lot of snow on the ground. The great crew at Spirit Mountain used the cold weather over the weekend to mass produce piles upon piles of snow. I even saw the groomer chugging along the backside of the track, pushing snow into place for the start line.
While temperatures won't be ideal before racing begins, with predictions ranging into the mid-50's by midweek, I was assured by Spirit Mountain officials and WPSA president Joe Duncan that everything is a go for this weekend. Duncan said that while the conditions aren't great, there is plenty of snow to build a track.
Racing gets underway on Friday with practice starting at 11:00 am. Friday night is a double Winter X Games qualifier and almost all of the top pro's and semi-pro's will be battling for one of ten spots for the January 2007 event. Practice for Winter X starts at noon with qualifying getting underway at 1:00 p.m.
See you at the races,
